You’re Not the Tool — You Use It
Many backup tools sync everything, whether you like it or not. Not SquirrelBak.
You decide which files get backed up. And just as important — you decide which ones don’t.
Blacklist Any File or Folder
SquirrelBak lets you exclude specific files or folders from backup — like temporary files, logs, or sensitive work documents.
For example, you can blacklist:
- /Downloads/*.tmp - skip temporary files
- /Projects/Drafts - exclude unfinished work
- *.log - ignore system logs
These files stay on your machine but are never copied.
No Forced Sync
Unlike cloud tools that sync everything by default, SquirrelBak respects your choices.
If a file is blacklisted, it’s never sent over the network. No traces. No logs. No copies.
Coming Soon: Simple UI
Right now, blacklisting is done via a simple config file (easy to edit).
A future update will add a clean interface so you can right-click any folder and say: “Don’t back this up.”
